Warm up with great activities this winter at the Rochester Hills Public Library

Residents of Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township, don’t miss these exciting events at Rochester Hills Public Library. All youth programs are funded by the Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library.  Registration is online. Each child who registers for library programs must have his or her own library card and be a resident of Rochester, Rochester Hills, or Oakland Township. Register all children attending this event. Hear stories about our southern neighbors from Mexico through South America and create a gaucho belt like the ones worn by the cowboys of Argentina.  Online registration begins November 13.

Storytimes Winter Session I

November 26 – December 20; registration opens November 19 at 9 a.m.
Storytimes are open to children with library cards who reside in Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township.  So we can accommodate as many children as possible, we ask that each child choose one time slot per session. A detailed schedule of storytimes is available at calendar.rhpl.org or in the youth room. Children should be registered using their own library card numbers.

Join Kevin when he returns to RHPL for another rollicking, participatory concert for preschoolers and their families.  Kevin has performed thousands of concerts and school programs all over New England and the Great Lakes region for the past two decades, sharing his vast repertoire of participatory songs. His rollicking, energetic shows are full of dancing, sing-alongs and all manner of silliness and fun! Online registration begins December 7.

WHERE IN THE WORLD- Western Europe

K – Grade 2

Tuesday, December 18

6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Story Room

Register all children attending this event.  Confirmation numbers required at the door.  Journeying throughout Europe, we’ll stop in several countries including France where we will meet Brave Martha and hear the tale of the fiery, six-legged dragon that terrorized her village, La Tarasque! Before the night is over we will create our very own portrait of this fearsome creature.  Online registration begins December 11.
