Venture Global Engineering Foundation (VGE) announces its 5th annual golf fundraising event to be held on Saturday July 21. For the third year in a row, the group will again be hosting golfers at not one, but two, golf courses: the Wyndgate Country Club and the WestWynd Golf course in Oakland Township. This is a monumental year for the foundation as they plan on eclipsing the $1,000,000 figure in total proceeds in the fifth year of the event. The all-volunteer VGE Foundation, founded in 2014, uses the fundraiser to support local organizations, school groups and regional charities, including Rochester-based New Day Foundation for Families and the Veterans Tribute of Oakland Township.
The event filled day includes the full use of the clubs facilities, driving range, full breakfast buffet, 18 holes golf with cart, welcoming gift, starter basket raffle, hole-in-one contests, mystery basket raffle, 50/50 raffle, free grilled hot dog stations on each golf course, longest drive and closest to the pin contests, best dressed, a full BBQ dinner buffet and multiple raffles at the end of the day.
Golf registration starts at $120 per golfer (based on a foursome). Additional sponsorship opportunities are available.
The “Grand Slam” raffle offers a chance to win four luxury suite tickets to each of the following sporting events – Comerica Park Tigers game, Ford Field Lions game, Little Caesars Arena Red Wings game and Jimmy Johns Field USPBL game. The “Luxury Suite” raffle offers a chance at over 20 sets of four luxury suite seats to either a Tigers, Lions, Red Wings or USPBL game. The highlight for 2018 is the chance for four golfers to win $1,000,000 on a chipping contest and the chance for one golfer to win a $75,000 putting contest. The foundation anticipates raffling off over $35,000 in prizes this year.
The groups and charities benefitting from this year’s outing are: Veterans Tribute of Oakland Township, L’Anse Creuse High School Band, West Point Society of Michigan, The Believe Foundation, Imlay City High School Robotics Team, Romeo Athletics, New Day Foundation for Families, Imlay City High School National Honors Society and a local senior center. Sponsorships and foursomes for this rapidly growing and highly regarded event are currently available. For additional information visit, www.vgefoundation.net.
