Goodbye Rochester Corner Gas Station

Hollywood Mini Market Closes – New Mixed-Use Building Planned

In 2014, Rochester Media covered the rebranding of the familiar corner gas station at 804 North Main Street, at Romeo Street across from the Dairy Queen. Owners, Erich and Angela Becker, had partnered with Hollywood Markets to offer a mini-market experience, as well continuing to sell gasoline. Now, a sign out front states “Closed, Thank You for the Years.”

Please read Hollywood Mini Market First in Rochester for more about the rebranding two years ago. The location is closed and vendors are moving out their stock and equipment.

Now that the location is closed, construction will begin soon on a new, mixed-use development, designed to “extend” Main Street northward as a “pedestrian district.” The building will have condominiums, apartments, and medical office space. Ground level garages will also be available for the condo residents.
