Rochester Soccer Club invites all Rochester Soccer Club (RSC) families and community members to participate in a family celebration to kick off the new RSC Field Complex at 3200 Dutton Road in Auburn Hills on Saturday, June 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This first-time family celebration promises to be great fun as families, teams, coaches, players and community members participate together in games and activities on the new RSC soccer fields. Participants will enjoy a day filled with soccer and other activities such as Knockerball, soccer juggling competitions, inflatable bounce houses, soccer-inspired obstacle courses, balloon creations, face-painting, raffles, silent auctions and more. The crowning event will be the Ball Drop at 2 p.m.
What is a Ball Drop? A group of numbered balls will be dropped from high above the New RSC Soccer Fields. Each time someone donates $25 to RSC, they will be assigned a number that corresponds to one of the balls. Ten cash prizes, up to $2500, will be awarded for the balls that stop closest to a target. Contestants need not be present to win.
Local businesses and community members are invited to support RSC by participating in the Ball Drop and/or donating to the silent auctions and raffles. Businesses and individuals are also encouraged to become Lightning Champions with a donation of $250. Not only will Lightning Champions earn ten chances of winning up to $2500 in the Ball Drop, their name will also be listed on a banner, which will be prominently displayed during the Grand Opening Celebration and throughout the summer and fall soccer seasons. Lightning Champions will also be recognized through RSC social media. (Donations must be received by May 9 in order to be listed on the banner)
The press release stated the Grand Opening Celebration is free to attend, and anyone wishing to participate in the various games, raffles and activities may buy tickets. Discount tickets are available now through May 22. For more information, please visit the RSC webpage at www.rscsoccer.org or contact Sally Anglim at 248-420-5276 or anglim7@gmail.com.
Proceeds from this celebration will benefit RSC and will be used toward the construction and maintenance of the new soccer field complex.
