Grand Traverse Pie Company Celebrates Pi Day, March 14, with Free Pie, School Celebrations and Contests
In honor of Pi Day – a day noted by math enthusiasts around the world- on Tuesday, March 14 (3.14) the Rochester Hills Grand Traverse Pie Company (GTPC) will be celebrating all day serving a free slice of ABC (Apples, Blueberries, Cherries) pie with purchase. Pie is a perfect complement to the craveable comfort foods offered including Chicken Pot Pie, traditional Beef Pasties and gourmet Mac and Cheese.
Local Schools Can Enter to Win $500 from Grand Traverse Pie Company in Pi Day Social Media Contest
As part of the Grand Traverse Pie Company Pi Day celebrations, GTPC will again run its social media video contest offering prizes for local schools to win $500 in cash for supplies and individuals to win gift cards and free pie for a year. Rewards will be given for reciting Pi digits and for the most informative and entertaining video showing how Pi is used in our everyday lives. Pi Day, March 14 is also part of Michigan Food and Agriculture Month events, so GTPC is joining forces with the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD), and Michigan Farm Bureau in encouraging Michiganders to celebrate math, education, and agriculture. In fact about 1,500,000 pounds of apples, blueberries, cherries, sugar and flour, all grown and processed in Michigan, goes into these delicious pies every year. “This is a great time of year to honor the role our farmers play in providing us with a safe and abundant food supply, as well as a being a strong contributor to Michigan’s economic foundation,” said Jamie Clover Adams, MDARD’s director. “We offer tremendous business and career opportunities in Michigan.
