Ascension Providence Rochester Foundation recently granted Neighborhood House $100,000 to support their Strive to Thrive Program assisting neighbors in achieving financial health and overall wellness.
The Strive to Thrive Program provides comprehensive services including case management, financial grant opportunities, and sustainability programs that equip our neighbors with the resources they need to achieve, and maintain, self-sustainability. Supporting this mission, Neighborhood House staff recently completed a full day Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training offered through the Oakland University PACE program with funding generously provided by the Ascension Providence Rochester Foundation.
The Strive to Thrive Grant has provided several Neighborhood House clients with life-changing opportunities that help them reach self-sustainability. As a previous client shares, “I want to thank Neighborhood House for everything that you have done for our family. You have helped us beyond what we thought we needed. The budgeting classes, emergency help, and all other services that we were able to utilize, all helped to put us on the path to self-sustainability. We recently applied for a mortgage and were approved. I honestly feel like we would have been trapped in an endless loop if we had not found your organization. We were able to break that cycle and provide a better future for our children. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, as you gave us hope for the future.”
