Great Fall Events Coming to the RHPL

Residents of Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township, don’t miss these exciting events at Rochester Hills Public Library.  All youth programs are funded by the Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library.  Registration is online. Each child who registers for library programs must have his or her own library card and be a resident of Rochester, Rochester Hills, or Oakland Township. FALL STORY TIME SESSIONS

Fall Session I: September 10-October 4

Registration opens September 4 at 9 a.m.
Story times are open to children with library cards who reside in Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township.  So we can accommodate as many children as possible, we ask that each child choose one time slot per session.

 

FAMILY STORY TIMES – Apple of My Eye Story time
All ages, with a caregiver

September 13, 7-7:30 p.m.
Story Room
Register all adults and children attending this family story time.  Enjoy stories, songs and general merriment! Online registration begins Thursday, September 6.

 

 

ADVENTURE FRIDAY

September 14, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Birth to age 5 with a caregiver

 

ADVENTURE SATURDAY

September 15, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Birth through grade 2 with a caregiver
Multipurpose Room

Register online for this program filled with early literacy activities please choose Friday OR Saturday. You’ll follow your child’s lead and do some (or all!) of the activities. Things might get messy, so dress accordingly. Children should be registered with their own library card, and must be accompanied by an adult. If you miss registration, the room will be opened up at 11:00 if there is space and materials are available.

 

 

Creativity Do-It-Yourself

Grades 4 and up

September 19, 7-8 p.m.
October 17, 7-8 p.m.
November 21, 2-3 p.m.

Multipurpose Room
We provide the starting point and the materials, you bring the creativity and come up with something really cool.  We’ll have a different theme each month. Online registration begins seven days prior to event.

Youth Room

Read to our furry friend Lucy on Wednesday nights with Ms. Liz.

Lucy, a black Newfoundland dog, has many favorite books. Choose one of hers that we provide or bring your own and read to her. She can’t resist a good book and time with a new friend.

Register all children attending this event.

Confirmation numbers required at the door

Join us as we travel to a different part of the world each month.  We will enjoy the stories of each land and make a correlating craft to take home.  For our first session, tall tales will take us traveling to various parts of the US.  We’ll also learn about our national symbol, the bald eagle and create an eagle craft to take home. Online registration begins September 11.
