High Fever possible cause of Death for 4 1/2 year old Rochester Hills Child

Deputies and the City of Rochester Hills Fire Department responded to the 20 block of Timberview for a 4 1/2 year old not breathing properly. Upon arrival, Deputies found the child without a pulse and immediately started CPR.  Paramedics arrived on scene a few moments after CPR was started and began administering advanced life-saving measures.  The child was transported to Troy Beaumont Hospital where staff continued medical efforts. After all efforts were exhausted, the child was pronounced deceased.

AmbulanceThe Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted and an Investigator was responding to the hospital along with Rochester Hills Detectives.  The child’s parents had reported that the child had been to the doctor’s office earlier in the day for a high fever and were sent home with medication.  The incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE: Reports now say there was another death on Monday, causes are pending, of a 4-month-old child who died at Providence Hospital in Novi. He too had a fever and was ill.
