Internationally Acclaimed Lyric Baritone Jonathan Retzlaff to Perform at Oakland University
The Music Program at Oakland University welcomes internationally acclaimed lyric baritone and Eastman School of Music faculty member Jonathan Retzlaff for an elegant and charming evening of beautifully sung art songs.

Dr. Retzlaff will perform in Varner Recital Hall on Friday, March 3 at 8:00 p.m. on the Oakland University campus. The concert, with Jennifer McGuire on piano, will include:

Before joining the Voice and Opera faculty of the Eastman School of Music, Dr. Retzlaff served as chair of the Voice Department at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music. For more than thirty years, he has performed professionally as a soloist in opera, oratorio, recital, and musical theatre. Following his New York debut recital of French mélodies at Carnegie Recital Hall, Dr. Retzlaff has championed the art of the song recital on prestigious concert series including the National Gallery of Art and Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C.; the A. I. Lack Music Master Series at the University of Houston, Texas; and the Bechstein Recital Series in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and internationally in Graz, Austria. He has also performed on the Community Concert Series under the auspices of Columbia Artists Management, on National Public Radio, and at colleges and universities around the country.

Tickets are $14, and $8 for students. They may be purchased online, by phone at (800) 585-3737 and at the Varner Box Office on OU’s campus. Tickets ordered online or by phone can be picked up at the box office one hour before the performance begins.
