Well it’s that time of year again and Holiday Helpers is kicking into high gear.
Holiday Helpers is a small 501c3 nonprofit. We function as a charity and food pantry. Everyone who works here volunteers. No one collects a salary and often we reach into our own pockets to lend a hand.
We receive support from the city of Rochester Hills, the mayor’s office, the city council, the staff, the fire department, DPS, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, the janitors, the schools, local companies and stores including Parisian, the Village mall, Limelight, Meijer’s and others who wish to remain anonymous. Not to mention many citizens and individuals.
So to all of you who have supported us over the years, I present an answer to why we do this. The attached card and letter belongs right next to “Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!”
To the angels who saved Christmas 2010, God bless you!
There are people in this world who show so much love and generosity to others that their spirit shines so bright. I can’t help but to think that is how heaven will be full of God’s angels. There will be only joy, love and happiness. That is what people like you do here on earth. You spread joy and love and happiness and remind us all that there is so much to life, more than just worry of how to pay bills or are we going to be alright. It is you God’s angles who fill us with the hope and faith that sometimes might get away from us in our time of worry.
Please know that our Christmas last year was so beautiful and you went more than out of your way to make that possible. God bless you and your family. Thank you for blessing mine. Truly I felt so blessed and so thankful to be one of God’s children. I have kept you in my prayers and will continue to until the day we meet in heaven. Have a very merry Christmas, God bless you and thank you so very much.
