Jaycees Announce Return of the “Dear Soldier” community service project at Festival of the Hills

Rochester Hills, MI – June 22, 2011 – Once again this year, the Rochester Area Jaycees will be holding their “Dear Soldier” community service project at the Festival of the Hills fireworks show on Wednesday, June 29th at Borden Park. The Jaycees will host a tent at the Festival of the Hills where community members can stop by and address a patriotic thank you to our troops who are fighting overseas. The Jaycees will then mail these thank you cards to the troops from our community.

“This community service project is another example of how the Rochester Area Jaycees give back to our community throughout the year,” said Rochester Area Jaycees President Julia Webber. “We are honored to participate in a great family event in our community – the Festival of the Hills – and we look forward to doing our part to thank the men and women who give so much for our freedom. We should never forget their service, especially during this time when we celebrate our country’s independence.”

The Jaycees will open the tent at the Festival of the Hills at 4 PM and keep it open until dusk, when the fireworks show begins. There is no charge to participate in this event.
