Local historian, Maureen Thalmann.

Started by a New York farmer, the Millerites were a 19th century doomsday cult that garnered a following of thousands. In Michigan, an Avon Township farmer’s story underscored the movement’s reach and effect. The presentation begins at 2:00 pm in the carriage house of the historic Wisner home, 405 Cesar East Chavez Avenue, Pontiac. Admission is $5.00. For further information call 248-338-6732.

All proceeds benefit the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society, an all-volunteer 501c3 organization.
