Twenty-seventeen marks the 200th Anniversary of the founding of Rochester. In celebration of this historic milestone, several special events are planned, but none are more anticipated than the Bicentennial Barn Dance. The dance will be held on Friday, June 23, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm. The Barn Dance will include a strolling dinner, square dancing, silent auction, a pie stand and much more. Tickets are $100 per person, and $150 per couple. Jeans preferred, boots optional.
A joint effort between the City of Rochester and the City of Rochester Hills, proceeds from the Barn Dance will benefit Rochester Bicentennial Monument at Rochester Municipal Park and the new Equipment Barn at Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm.
“This barn dance helps to celebrate our community’s history in a traditional and fun way,” stated Patrick McKay, Manager, Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm. “It also will raise funds to support the Museum’s next barn project – the rebuilding of the Equipment Barn that we hope to start later this year. Our goal is to reconstruct the Van Hoosen Farm site and tell our community history at this beautiful historic site and to share it all with our community.”
