KIDSgala Foundation to Host a Celebration of Life Event for Trista Kirby in her Battle Against Leukemia

KIDSgala, a David C. McKnight Foundation, will host a “Spa Party” for Trista Kirby on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at The Dearborn Inn from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Invited guests will be treated to manicures, pedicures, massages and Trista’s favorite treats.

Trista, 8 years old, is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) for a second time. Trista was first diagnosed at the age of two and underwent treatment for two years. Her family thought she had beat the cancer because she almost made it to the five-year mark. Trista was just beginning to have a normal childhood again, spending time playing with her friends and cousins, when she relapsed on May 9, 2016. She is going through even more intense treatments this time around.

Trista’s family calls her their hero and the entire family lives by the motto, “stay strong and have a happy life”. KIDSgala Board of Directors is honored to host this event for such a brave, young girl.
