Last call for artists to participate in downtown Rochester’s Seventh Annual Skateboard Art Competition & Exhibition: Deck Art 2017. Artists are asked to provide their unique work on a blank skateboard deck. All ages are welcome to participate. Categories include Elementary School, Middle School, High School, College, and Adult. Winning pieces will be picked in each category by a panel of judges from Painting with a Twist (Rochester Hills), and prizes will be awarded. The deadline to register for Deck Art is April 21.
A total of 56 local merchants will participate in the event, transforming Deck Art 2017 into a downtown Rochester crawl. Completed artwork will be artfully displayed throughout participating restaurants and businesses for onlookers to enjoy. Participating Businesses include:

Deck Art 2017 is scheduled for May 11-12. The Rochester Principal Shopping District (PSD) will host both the Thursday Night Kickoff on May 11, and Friday Night Crawl on May 12, both from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The events will include unique artwork, musical entertainment, kid’s activities, and more.
All artists must register for Deck Art at South Street Skate Shop located at 410 Main Street. Registration forms can be found in-store, or online at downtownrochestermi.com.
