The League of Women Voters Oakland Area will host three candidate forums in the Rochester area for the upcoming November 8 general election.
On September 29, residents of the city of Rochester Hills will have the opportunity to meet the candidates running for mayor, city council at-large and District 2 seats. Reporters Kristin Bull and Annette Kingsbury and League member Mary Howarth will question the candidates. Residents may submit questions in advance to rochesterhillsforum@gmail.com.
The forum will begin at 7 p.m. in the city hall auditorium, 1000 Rochester Hills Drive. The forum will be telecast live and on demand on the city website beginning the next day. It will also be available for viewing on the city cable channel several times before the election.
On October 3, the five candidates competing for three seats on the Rochester Community Schools Board of Education will be introduced. A forum will be held at 7 p.m. at the school administration building, 501 W. University. Residents in the audience will have the opportunity to submit written questions. The forum will be cablecast for showing throughout the district before the election and will be available on demand on your local CMN channel.
The six candidates competing for four seats on Rochester City Council will be introduced at a forum on October 6 at 7:30 p.m. The forum will take place in the council chambers at Rochester City Hall, 400 Sixth Street. All questions to the candidates will come from the residents in the audience. The forum will be cablecast and available for viewing on the city channel several times before the election and on demand on the city website.
Following the forums, the rebroadcast dates and times will be available on the League’s Web site, lwvoa.org Voter Guides for all elections in Oakland County will also be on the website.
