Cooking Class 2013 Chef Randy (5)

Chef Randy of Twin Lakes Golf and Swim Club is planning a tantalizing menu for “Let’s Get Grilling” Cooking Class, a fundraiser to benefit the
Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library.

Ron Meegan, Vice President of the Friends of RHPL and chairman of “Let’s Get Grilling” notes that Chef Randy will grill dishes from appetizers to dessert,  including his award winning chili recipe that won top prize at Arts, Beats, and Eats for three years. “We think this class will appeal to the guys as well as to the gals, because who usually does the grilling any way?” says Meegan. He goes on to say, “The chef will be on a raised platform with guests seated theater style so the demonstration will easily be seen and heard by everyone.  Guests will then move to tables where they will be treated to the tantalizing food that was demonstrated and receive the recipes.” A silent auction will be on hand offering a variety of items from artwork to cookbooks to theatre tickets and much more. A cash bar for beer and wine will be available.

Registration information can be found on the Friends page of the RHPL website at http://www.rhpl.org/friends-of-rhpl.org or forms will be available at the Information Desk.  Twin Lakes Golf and Swim Club is located at 455 Twin Lakes Dr., Rochester.  For more information, call 248-340-9215. Deadline for registering is August 2.

The Friends of Rochester Hills Public Library is a non-profit organization that for more than 50 years has raised money to support library special events and programs.  “We really appreciate the fund-raising effort of the Friends of RHPL,” said library director Christine Lind Hage.   “The Friends book sales, book cart, annual home tour, and library store are very popular and are major sources of funding.  The Friends also host other fund-raising events that are fun and informative such as the recent GM Heritage Center tour.  I believe the “Let’s Get Grilling” cooking class will appeal to many in our community.”
