For years Rochester Mills Beer Co. has been known as one of the best venues in Oakland County for food, friends and beer as well as a great place to catch live bands with no cover charge on the weekends. Now they are expanding their entertainment offerings to Thursday Nights with live, original local music.
The Mills Greenhorn Music Night will continue this Thursday, Oct. 28, with three bands battling to be the night’s winner. Patrick Davy and the Ghosts, The Boom Chasers, and Daring Imperial will take the stage, beginning at 9 p.m. at Rochester Mills Beer Co. in downtown Rochester. Presented by Lazy Daze Records, The Mills Greenhorn Music Night is a great opportunity to catch three- to- four up-and-coming artists perform in a fun, intimate setting until midnight every Thursday. Enjoy Happy Hour prices 4 p.m. to close and $6 growler refills.
Following in the vain of “American Idol,” “Battle of the Bands” and “America’s Got Talent,” guests have the opportunity to vote electronically for their favorite bands on stage-side kiosks. Based on patron response and music style, bands that receive the most votes may be booked to perform headlining shows at the Rochester Mills Beer Co. or acoustic performances at Mind Body & Spirits restaurant. There could even be a Lazy Daze Record contract up for grabs.
In addition to the Greenhorn Music Nights, the Mills is continuing its history of great live music throughout the weekend. The Remedy will perform on Friday, Oct. 29, while Danny Velic will perform a “Dark Side of the Moon” set at the Mills Halloween Party on Saturday. Both shows start at 10 p.m. and there is no cover.
Artists interested in the opportunity to perform a 45 minute set of their own original music must submit a copy of their music to 400 Water St., LL3, Rochester MI 48307 for management for review. Or they can drop off copies at the restaurant, at 400 Water St., Attn: Greenhorn Night.
