The State of the City Address is an annual must see event where business leaders, residents, and other government officials come together to hear the community’s highlights, planned initiatives, and of course a few surprises.
With the motto “Innovative by Nature” the city prides itself on looking for new ways to make civic engagement both informative and engaging. Showcasing the many musical talents of the city, guests will experience a night of lively music where they can clap, sing, and dance along to the city’s story. Last year, more than 600 people attended the State of the City and the event was recognized by the Michigan Municipal League as one of the most entertaining speeches in the state.
“I love telling our story in a unique and engaging way,” states Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “We attempt each year to exceed our guests’ expectations and transform a traditional and sometimes even boring event into an experience that provides meaningful engagement.”
Doors open at 6:30 and the program begins at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is going fast. To RSVP, call 248-656-4600 or email mayorsoffice@rochesterhills.org.
