Second Annual Rochester Hills Stands with Detroit Day
Next Friday, over 100 people from Rochester Hills will be spending the day removing blight and assisting in the construction of a new Community Innovation Center.
For the second year in a row, the City of Rochester Hills has collaborated with Life Remodeled, a Detroit-based non-profit organization to offer a unique volunteering opportunity to residents of Rochester Hills to work with volunteers from all over Southeast Michigan to help revitalize Central High School and the surrounding area.
Friday, August 4, has been designated as “Rochester Hills Stands with Detroit Day.” On this day city employees, council members, and residents are encouraged to join city leadership in donating time to this great cause. This is a part of a weeklong volunteer effort where over 12,000 volunteers will contribute their time to rebuild the area.
“Last year, over 130 city employees and residents volunteered to be a part of this exciting program,” states Mayor Bryan K. Barnett “Our team is excited to support our neighbors and we hope that other Rochester Hills residents will join us in this effort.”
Those looking to participate can sign up at LifeRemodeled.com/Volunteer. All volunteers must be at least 14 years old to participate. Volunteer activity includes removing trash, mowing grass, trimming bushes, painting, planting, etc. Tools, lunch, and water will be provided.
