Mayor Bryan K. Barnett has officially kicked off his write-in campaign for re-election as Mayor of Rochester Hills. Mayor Barnett has been serving as Mayor of Rochester Hills since 2006 winning elections on the ballot in 2007 and 2011 along with winning unprecedented write-in campaigns in 2015 and 2019.
Under Mayor Barnett’s extraordinary leadership, Rochester Hills has earned numerous recognitions both regionally and nationwide. The city has consistently been recognized as one of the safest communities in the country, and just last month, secured an impressive ranking of #20 on Livability’s Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S. list for the second consecutive year.
“Despite these impressive accolades, the most important metric of success is what our residents think,” states Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. In the most recent city survey, an astounding 94% of Rochester Hills residents rated their quality of life as “good” or “great,” demonstrating their satisfaction with the services provided by the City of Rochester Hills. These are the highest satisfaction ratings of any city in Southeast Michigan.
Mayor Barnett’s vision for Rochester Hills focuses on innovation, exceptional customer service, and fiscal responsibility. Among his recent notable initiatives was the transformational $16 million investment in the Auburn Road Corridor, encouraging new investment, improving safety, adding art and the city’s first splash pad. Additionally, Innovation Hills, the city’s newest park, has captured the imagination of residents and visitors alike being consistently recognized as one of the best playgrounds in the region as well as a national model for inclusive recreation. .
If successful, Mayor Barnett would be the only strong mayor in the country to win three write-in campaigns consecutively in our nation’s history.
The City’s charter specifies that the Mayor is prohibited from seeking re-election after serving two full consecutive terms. However, this limitation does not impede running as a write-in candidate.
“While this may pose a more challenging path to victory, it reaffirms the tremendous support from our residents, who recognize and appreciate the investments we’ve made in Rochester Hills. They are not simply checking a box; they are looking at what we have accomplished, the reputation of our community and the outstanding quality of life we enjoy in Rochester Hills. They are writing in my name to keep a good thing going,” states Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “I am incredibly thankful for the past support of the community, and I humbly ask for your support to continue to serve the place I proudly call home for another four years.”
To vote for Mayor Barnett, voters must fill the oval to the left of the blank space and write “Bryan K. Barnett” on the line next to the filled-in oval.
