Meadow Brook Hall presents ‘Art in the Elements’

A Floral Exhibit and Tour

Art in the Elements at Meadow Brook Hall runs August 22 through August 25. Drawing inspiration from Meadow Brook Hall’s 90th anniversary and the estate’s beautiful grounds, combined with the talent of floral artists from around the country, Art in the Elements is sure to delight nature, art and history lovers of all ages.

Meadow Brook Hall presents “Art in the Elements”

Visitors can stroll through the woodland paths of The Great Estate to view over 20 large-scale floral art sculptures and displays. Then, step into The Hall for a self-guided tour complete with floral designs inspired by The Hall’s vast collection and unique spaces, ranging from The Hall’s art glass Tiffany collection to a poker party in the games room. Art in the Elements is a partnership with the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD). Tours will be offered Friday, August 23 through Sunday, August 25, with a special preview event on Thursday, August 22.

Art in the Elements is open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23; 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 24; and 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25. Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 3:30 p.m. guest can enjoy free family craft activities. Regular tours will not be offered during this time.

Tickets will be sold onsite on the dates above; reservations are not required and The Hall will be not be taking reservations in advance. The tour will occur rain or shine. Admission is $20 for adults, $17 for seniors 62 and older, $15 for Oakland University affiliates and $12.50 for youth 6-12. Admission includes a self-guided house and grounds tour and entrance into Knole Cottage, Danny’s Cabin and the Wilson Playhouse.

Art in the Elements also includes a special preview night on Thursday, August 22, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Guests can view the exhibit lit against the backdrop of the evening sky and mingle with the artists. The evening includes a private reception on the Loggia Terrace with live musical entertainment provided by The Human Group, hors d’oeuvres, delectable desserts and a beer and wine bar.
