Running Nov. 21 through Dec. 24, 2025, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich.
One of southeast Michigan’s favorite holiday traditions returns for its 43rd year when Ebenezer, Tiny Tim, and a handful of ghosts raise your spirits in A Christmas Carol at Meadow Brook Theatre (MBT) this November and December.
A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, with an original adaptation and staging by Charles Nolte, runs at Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester from November 21 to December 24, 2025.
Veteran MBT actor Phil Powers returns to the role of Ebenezer Scrooge this year after his spectacular debut in 2024. “I was so excited that our audience embraced Phil in the role of Scrooge when he took over full-time last year,” says Cheryl Marshall, MBT managing director. “He really did an excellent job of showing how Scrooge recaptures his Christmas spirit.”
Russell Clauser from Rochester and Robert Spiro from Rochester share the role of Tiny Tim. The cast also includes Anthony Guest (Ghost of Jacob Marley), Mary Magyari (Spirit of Christmas Past), Tamara Della Anderson (Spirit of Christmas Present), and Sean Ryan (Spirit of Christmas Future). Stephen Blackwell and Dani Cochrane are Bob and Mrs. Cratchit.
“This is our 43rd year for A Christmas Carol,” says Travis W. Walter, MBT artistic director. “Hundreds of people rely on us as an integral part of their families’ holidays, and we’re so happy to share the magic of the season.”
The Meadow Brook Theatre adaptation was written and originally staged by Charles Nolte. Travis W. Walter directs this season’s production with original choreography by Jan Puffer. Scenic design is by Peter W. Hicks, lighting design by Reid G. Johnson, associate lighting designer Phill Hall, costume design by Mary Pettinato, and sound design by Mike Duncan. Brittanie Nichole Sicker is the stage manager, and Stacy White is the assistant stage manager.

Standard tickets range from $41 to $51 and are available by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300 or going online at www.Ticketmaster.com. Student discounts are available at the box office. Groups of eight or more should call 248-370-3316 for group pricing.
“We want everyone to be able to enjoy A Christmas Carol, so we have our Family Weekend discounts again this year. November 21, 22, and 23, all adult tickets are $37, and children 5 to 12 are half off the adult ticket price,” says Marshall.
