Miracles Are Priceless-Paint A Miracle Launches Annual Appeal

It started year’s ago with one woman’s vision, a vision that lead to Dale Propson overcoming sight, mobility and other cognitive obstacles. Helen Cunniff believed and witnessed how her art lessons with Dale lead to improved abilities after an accident caused him traumatic brain injury.

After Cunniff’s death in 2000, the Propson family dedicated themselves to carrying out Cunniff’s vision; using art therapy to enrich the lives of those who need it. As the art therapy hit very close to home, it has only kept them driven on their mission leading to the launch of Paint A Miracle Art Studio.

Recently receiving the Art & Culture Sunrise Pinnacle Award from the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce, the studio is has become an integral part of the community. “The residents and businesses of Rochester have been enthusiastic and supportive. We truly feel that we have a home here,” said Shelly Propson Tyshka (Studio Director.) Thriving from donations and the sell of the artists art work also enables their ability to carry out the mission.

Now is the time to give during Paint a Miracle’s Annual Appeal. The community is asked to give, and then give again and again! We’ve made it easy this year. You can donate through Paypal, write a check, or contact the studio to set up an annual pledge (to be automatically charged to your credit card each month). Be a part of painting miracles everyday with your donation!

Paint a Miracle is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity and all donations are tax deductible. With every gift to Paint a Miracle, you are making an investment in the creative life of our community and in the lives of individuals who might not otherwise have access to the arts. Most of our artists cannot maintain gainful employment due to the nature or severity of their disability. Paint a Miracle provides them with meaningful work, a sense of community and scholarships for those artists that cannot afford to pay for classes.
