More Than 300 Reindeer Killed by Lighting in Rare Mass Death with VIDEO

More than 300 reindeer in Norway were killed in a lightning strike that felled an entire herd in a rare mass death that experts said was unprecedented in the Scandinavian country.

Experts said 323 of the wild caribou, including 70 calves, died during the storm that rolled across the Hardangervidda mountain plateau last Friday.

On Monday the Norwegian Environment Agency released photos of the carnage. The animals appeared to have fallen over where they stood.
