Motor City Denim Jeans now available at Le Conte in Rochester Hills – with video

“Industrial couture” is the term designer Joe Faris uses to describe his new line of clothing produced here in Michigan. All the materials used are made in America and assembled in Sterling Heights. High-end fashionable jeans that are manufactured to be tough and durable are the main product of the Motor City Denim Co. However, they also produce t-shirts, skirts, dresses, outerwear and accessories.

Joe Faris has been around the metro Detroit area at several locations now offering his clothes. Joe and The Motor City Denim Co. Trunk Show recently made a stop in Rochester Hills at Le Conte Fine Men’s Apparel. The front door was propped open to welcome the fall season, as well as shoppers looking to meet Joe and to get a look at his line of jeans.

Customer Peter Bilodeau of Rochester heard about the jeans and stopped in the store to take a look. Peter said he wanted “something from Michigan” and liked the whole “made in Detroit” attitude of the product.

“Taking back the productive jeanius of America” is the philosophy of Motor City Denim and their mission, “to build apparel designed in the Motor City with American content; and to boldly stake our claim that we are bringing fashion and apparel manufacturing to our community” certainly shows when you look, touch and feel the jeans.

8 Mile, Woodward, Madison, and Ambassador are just a few of the local names Joe has given to his designs. Each jean is a little different but all use a premium denim material. Some are “tea stained” to offer an antique look, while others are “hand sanded” to give a comfortable, already worn-in feel. Joe states that his jeans are “going out jeans” and are “not cutting grass jeans.” Joe wanted a product that was “Born in Michigan” and “Made in the U.S.A.” Both terms are used to promote the product, now in six stores around southeast Michigan.
