Movies in the Moonlight begins in Downtown Rochester July 15

The 16th Season of Movies in the Moonlight

This season there is four consecutive fun filled Saturday nights. “I can’t think of a better way for families to spend their Saturday nights under the stars,” said Jenna O’Dell, Events Coordinator of the Rochester Downtown Development Authority. “Movies in the Moonlight is a community staple for many local families.”

Movies in the Moonlight is located in the parking lot at the corner of E. Third & Water, one block east of Main. Featured movies begin at dusk (approximately 9:15 p.m.) and pre-shows start at 8:30 pm. Admission is free, so arrive early for the best seating. Movies in the Moonlight is BYOC (Bring Your Own Chairs). Food and drinks will be available for purchase, but guests are welcome to bring their own.

The complete 2017 Movies in the Moonlight schedule is:

  • July 15: The Secret Life of Pets (PG)
  • July 22: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (PG-13)
  • July 29: Hidden Figures (PG)
  • August 5: Sing (PG)

Movies rated PG-13 are edited versions whenever possible, however, parental guidance is still recommended. Pre-show activities include, bring your own stuffed pet on July 15, Star Wars trivia on July 22, fun with the Michigan Science Center on July 29, and a sing-along with Jennifer Kincer and friends on August 5.
