The national auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association USA, believes that serving communities isn’t just a civic responsibility, but a part of faith. In the year 2015, AMYA USA fed over 180,000 people and collected over 5,000 pints of blood across their 70 chapters.
“Allowing Flint to go thirsty is not what Muslims do. It’s not what human beings do. If tomorrow our city was in the same situation, wouldn’t we want even just a little bit of help?” says Raza Qadir, Secretary of Humanitarian Services for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association of Metro Detroit. “AMYA Metro Detroit will continue to not only pray for Flint, but help out in any way possible.”
