My Vision Speech for Veteran’s Day 2015 at Oakdale Academy

Nathan, a high school sophomore, wrote a speech for the Veteran’s Day celebration at Oakdale Academy that will make a tear come to your eye, make you swell with pride, and leave you challenged with what to do next. In a day and age when people are afraid of offending, worried about what others will think, or even Nathan-Patrtoit Speechlack the convictions to generate such thoughts, this is a refreshing insight into what some young people are being taught – like the ability to think for themselves. With comments like “Wake up, o people of America!” and “Are we to listen, but not hear? Hear, but not do? Do, but not keep doing?” this young man brings the listener to their feet ready for action!  Listen to Nathan’s speech and please be willing to comment and share the speech with others on your social networks.Oakdale Logo

As C.S. Lewis pointed out, progress sometimes means going back to the point where things got off track, and starting down the right path. He said, “We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning, then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; and in that case the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man.”

  1. This is a wonderfully written speech for a 15 year old. I actually attended the event at Oakdale Academy so I actually heard Nathan give the address very professionally. It needs to go viral. We don’t have enough 15 year olds who could write in such an interesting manner and make such a great presentation. The sound needs enhancing however as it is difficult to actually hear on the computer.
