Neighborhood House Announces New Look to Continue a Diverse Array of Support Services

Neighborhood House Expands Safety Net and Resources to Vulnerable Populations in Northern Oakland County

A mom and two children embrace.

As Neighborhood House celebrates more than 50 years as the community’s resource for assistance and guidance, it announces a transition to a completely new look.

Neighborhood House’s re-branding aligns with the organization’s mission to create sustainable change through a diverse array of support services, fostering transitions, and assisting individuals through difficult moments in life. Its redesigned logo showcases a colorful tribute to the collective community that can be seen in Neighborhood Houses’ board of directors, team, volunteers, and clients. It is this diverse collection that comes together to make it truly the neighborhoods’ house.

A home is a place to feel safe and welcomed, in any circumstance, and Neighborhood House offers that safety net to thousands of clients each year through numerous programs. Throughout the past year, Neighborhood House has continued to adapt to the constant change of COVID without impacting the financial health of the organization, or its ability to meet the needs of local residents. In a time when the need for services reaches an all-time high, Neighborhood House has met every challenge providing for its community like never before.

“This past year and the work we have been able to do during the COVID-19 pandemic gave Neighborhood House the opportunity to look at the community’s needs and bloom and grow to meet those needs,” said Kathy Losinski, Neighborhood House Executive Director. “As we enter into a new season, we are thrilled to be showing the vibrant colors that are the perfect example of the vibrant people we are able to work with. We want to make sure that people know we are the house that you can come to when you need something.”

Neighborhood House is a visual representation of what can happen when a community comes together to take care of its neighbors. Neighborhood House serves more 3,000 households per year in northern Oakland County. In the communities it serves, 25% of families are living paycheck to paycheck or worse. Neighborhood House is the only human services agency in the area providing a full list of services to its clients from emergency food to financial literacy.

“We are the local ‘boots on the ground’ providing services,” said Losinski. “None of that can happen without an incredible community coming together to support each other. We know needs exist, and we are honored to be able to provide the answers.”

In 2020, Neighborhood House services included distributing 195,000 meals, providing over 1,000 children assistance through its seasonal programs (Holiday, School Supplies), 13,374 clothing items distributed at its Downtown Rochester Clothes Closet, and an additional 832 sustainability services provided.
