Neighborhood House, Ascension Providence Rochester (Crittenton Hospital), and the Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan have teamed up to host their annual Blast off 2 School back-to-school event on August 17 at the Neighborhood House main office (1720 S. Livernois, Rochester Hills, MI).
Since opening their new facility in 2016, Neighborhood House has been able to expand all of their services, including the Blast off 2 School program. At this event, eligible children will receive school supplies, backpacks, and back to school clothing. They will also have the option to sign up for health assessments. Last year, an 11-year-old boy had his first physical because of this program. The event provides access to critical services for these children, which might not otherwise be available.
This event is free for Neighborhood House clients and families with children ages 4-18 who qualify for Medicaid or free and reduced lunch programs. Families must live in Auburn Hills, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Oakland Township, Leonard or Lakeville (ID required).
“We love teaming up with Ascension Providence Rochester and the Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan to bring this wonderful program each year,” said Kathy Losinski, director at Neighborhood House. “This event, in addition to other Neighborhood House services, helps our families in need on their path to self-sustainability.”
Eligible families can register for this event (no walk-in’s) before August 8 or call 248-651-5836 ext.21.
