Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Mark the Beginning of a Fresh Start
Neighborhood House will unwrap a gift of hope and renewal to the entire Rochester area community at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 13. The charitable organization will be welcoming visitors to the grand opening of their new and impressively upgraded center located at 1720 South Livernois Road in Rochester Hills.
“It’s a new beginning, a fresh start. Just like when clients come here, everybody deserves a fresh start,” said Neighborhood House Director Kathy Losinski.
Neighborhood House provides support to thousands of people each year who are struggling with personal and financial troubles. For more than four decades, the group worked diligently out of a small building on the campus of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Clients would fill the cramped reception room and hallway as they waited to be seen by a caseworker. The new expanded office can accommodate more clients and offer additional onsite services, including an emergency food pantry and clothes closet.
The prominent location on South Livernois Road has made the office easier to find and get to for clients and volunteers alike.
“The additional space is allowing us to provide better service for our clients, they seem to be extremely happy with the new surroundings. It’s cheerful and accessible,” Losinski said. “The visibility on Livernois is just impacting the awareness, it’s going to benefit the community so much more.”
Professional design services were donated by Dianne Mattina from Aspen Interiors, Jane Ritchie from Spaces by Jane, and by the Rochester Hills based firm, James DeBard Architects.
Contractor Frank Rewold and Son Inc. did the hands-on interior restoration of the 8,750-square-foot building.
Members of the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce will be joining the staff of Neighborhood House to help celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony. Chamber President Sheri Heiney stated that over the years, her group has referred not only business owners who want to sponsor Neighborhood House, but people who need assistance as well.
The ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, followed by light refreshments and tours of the building. Neighborhood House is located at 1720 South Livernois Road, Rochester Hills.
