The Rochester Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is proud to announce the debut of its new program, Mics & Mac. Mics & Mac is a crowdfunding event designed to empower local kids (ages 10-18) and enrich the Rochester community with their creative ideas. From art, events, placemaking and more, all ideas are welcome and encouraged.
Kids can submit ideas online through Monday, July 8. Ten will be selected and invited to give a 5-minute pitch presentation at the Mics & Mac Event on Wednesday, August 7. The winning pitch will receive $1,000 to make bring their idea to life.
Mics & Mac will be held on Wednesday, August 7 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Rochester Community House. Tickets are $10 and include dinner (mac & cheese, of course), dessert and a vote for their favorite pitch. Tickets are available online or at the Rochester DDA Office, 308 ½ Main Street.
Mics & Mac is part of The Front Porch Project, a new initiative by the Rochester DDA. The goal of The Front Porch Project is to improve the quality of life for area residents, focusing on wellness, community, people and place. For more information, contact the Rochester DDA at 248-656-0060.
