Marbles Away!
A new “clinking” sound can be heard in the gallery at Paint Creek Center for the Arts thanks to a new, free interactive addition to the Palette & Brush Exhibition. Exhibition visitors carry a cup of colored marbles through the exhibition. Whenever an exhibit piece moves them, they select a marble that corresponds to their emotion and place it into a clear tube located next to each piece of art. A red marble means the viewer feels excited, orange is for sad, green for happy, blue for calm and clear for curious. “We love hearing the clinking of the marbles dropping into the tubes, knowing that our visitors are interacting with artwork and sharing their emotional responses with other visitors,” said Elizabeth Chilton, Executive Director at Paint Creek Center for the Arts.
The interactive art exhibition is free and open to the public through March 9, 2019 during Paint Creek Center for the Arts business hours Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The second floor gallery is located in Paint Creek Center for the Arts’ historic building at 407 Pine Street, Rochester, MI 48307.
