A grand opening celebration with community ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held July 10
The newly built McDonald’s restaurant located at 101 W. Auburn Rd. in Rochester Hills officially opens to customers Friday, June 26. To commemorate the event, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration featuring local dignitaries and special guests will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 10. The new McDonald’s will create nearly 80 jobs ranging from part-time to career positions.
According to the press release, highlights of the interior include a modern, sleek design with touches of lime green, blue and orange colors atop gray undertones and wood accents. The new McDonald’s features eco-friendly amenities, such as interior and exterior LED lighting and a paper and cardboard recycling program. It offers customers free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV viewing, comfortable cushioned seating and a high-top communal dining table. The 24-hour restaurant also has a dual-lane drive-thru and pull forward lane for customer convenience.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, July 10, McDonald’s restaurant owner William Saputo, Jr. will host Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett and other city officials, Ronald McDonald and McDonald’s regional staff, managers and crew.
“I am excited to be a part of the development of this southwest corner at Auburn and Rochester roads and to be able to continue to invest in this vibrant community where I was raised,” said Saputo. “It is truly an honor to be a destination for the residents of Rochester Hills and the surrounding communities that will provide great food, customer service and value for many years to come.”
Saputo is a second-generation McDonald’s owner. Together with his father and sister, the Saputo family owns a total of 16 McDonald’s restaurants. This is the fourth McDonald’s restaurant for Saputo and his third McDonald’s located in the Rochester/Rochester Hills area, including one at Rochester Road north of Avon and a location at Walton and Adams roads.
Giving back to the communities where he does business, Saputo supports education initiatives, including providing scholarships to high school students and raising funds for educational institutions. He also is a long-time supporter of the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit.
As part of the grand opening celebration, customers will have the opportunity to win an iPod, gift cards and more through raffle drawings from June 26 through July 10. Names of the winners will be drawn following the July 10 ribbon cutting ceremony.
In addition, there will be special grand opening promotions, including:
