New Rochester Swim School Opens on South Street

Ribbon Cutting is a Splash

Brian Bayer of the new Goldfish Swim School in Rochester states at their grand opening that they “teach the life lesson of swimming.” Swimming really is one of those life skills everyone should have. Brian and his wife, Hope, currently own two franchise Goldfish Swim Schools. Their first one is in Farmington Hills and they plan to open a third location in Macomb next year.

From four months to 12 years old, kids can learn to swim year-round in a 90 degree indoor pool. Parents pay by the month. Students come once per week for 30 minutes in small groups. No more than four children to one instructor. Classes run $78.00 per student, per month.

State-of-the-Art Operations

Parents can watch the lessons from an air conditioned glass-walled area that has a snack bar and pro shop. There are several times per week that offers “family swim” time. Parents may come at no additional charge and enjoy the pool with their enrolled child.

The entire space, all brand new, gives off the sense of fun. Bright colors and a smiling staff help make it an easy experience. The changing rooms are large, family-style and private. They even have large mirrors and complimentary hairdryers.

Safety First

Everyone that works at Goldfish is certified and trained in CPR. They only teach swimming. No diving or racing, learning to swim is their niche and it’s very popula, the pool is only four feet deep. The Malacko’s from Shelby Twp. use to go to the Birmingham location and were happy to have a shorter drive to Rochester and say it’s a “nice facility.”

Rent the entire pool area out on a weekend for two hours for $450.00 and have a wet, fun and safe birthday party. Contact them for more info or stop by for a visit.
