STORY TIMES– Winter Session II

Registration opens Monday, January 7 at 9:00 a.m.
Story times are open to children with library cards who reside in Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township. So we can accommodate as many children as possible, we ask that each child choose one time slot per session. A detailed schedule of story times is available at calendar.rhpl.org or in the youth room. Children should be registered using their own library card numbers.
WHERE IN THE WORLD – Northern Africa and the Middle East

Story Room
Register all children attending this event. Join us as we travel to a different part of the world each month. Our destinations this month will include countries from Turkey to Morocco and places in between. We will delight in hearing some folktales from those exotic places and finish up by creating a Khamsa, a good luck symbol from Morocco. Online registration begins Tuesday, January 8. Bring your imagination and create a Lego masterpiece for display at the library. Legos and bases supplied. Online registration begins January 23.

Multipurpose Room
Register all children attending this program filled with early literacy activities. You’ll follow your child’s lead and do some (or all!) of the activities. Things might get messy, so dress accordingly. Children must be registered with their own library card, and must be accompanied by an adult. Online registration opens January 25. If you miss registration, the room will be opened up at 11 a.m. if space and materials are available.
PRESCHOOL FRIDAY

2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Parents are invited to drop in and visit with representatives from the local preschools and daycare centers. They will bring information about their programs and be on-hand to answer questions. No registration is required.

Beverly uses her boundless energy and beautiful voice to entertain all. With a guitar in her hand and smile on her face, songs just seem to flow from her like water. Music and laughter will fill the room and her audiences always leave smiling and humming and ready to return again. Online registration begins February 1.

Spend your midwinter break showing off your creative talents at Creativity Camp! Register for one, two or all three days. Online registration begins February 8; campers should register for each event separately, but are invited to attend all three if they wish.
Yoga for Kids

Children and their parents are invited to experience a yoga class with instructors from Updog Yoga. Mats will be provided or bring your own if you prefer. All attendees must sign a waiver before participating in class. Online registration begins February 9 at 9:00 a.m.
