Oakland Township Invites Local Residents to wake up at Nighttime to visit Lost Lake Nature Park
Have you ever seen a bat up close? With delicate webbed wings and fuzzy brown bodies, bats are nothing like what we see in the movies. Learn about bats and other local nocturnal animals and see them live at Night Creatures at Lost Lake Nature Park’s Warming Shelter on Wednesday, July 20th from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Daily, we see bats fluttering above our roof tops in the twilight, skunks scurrying about our lawns and hear owls hooting in the distance but they are mystery to us. The Organization for Bat Conservation will help answer your questions and will cover a variety of topics regarding these and other fantastic nocturnal mammals such as conservation, habitats and ecosystems. Night Creatures will feature four live animals including: a bat, an owl, a flying squirrel and a skunk! Don’t miss this chance to see live animals up close and personal.
Night Creatures is open to participants 7 years and older, adults are welcome. The cost to attend this program is $5/Oakland Township resident or $7/Non-resident. If you are interested in attending Night Creatures, please contact Oakland Township Parks and Recreation at (248) 651-7810 by July 18th to reserve your spot.
