Applications are now being accepted for nominations of individuals, families, businesses or organizations from the Greater Rochester area for the Paint Creek Center for the Arts’ second annual Regional Arts and Culture Awards.
The awards debuted last year, when the art center asked the mayors of each community it serves to submit a nominee. The winners included artist and art restorer LaVere Webster, the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, and Ray and Mary Nicholson of Oakland Township. Nominees also came from Orion Township, Shelby Township, Troy, Auburn Hills and Washington Township.
The city of Rochester is seeking nominations of those fostering arts and culture in meaningful and impactful ways. This includes visual arts, performing arts, film, history, science, literary arts and the like. City residence is not required.
To be considered, nominees must possess one or more of the following attributes:
Committed their time, resources, leadership and expertise to advance an arts-related mission.
Made a significant financial contribution to the arts.
An arts educator.
Have demonstrated leadership in founding, re-energizing or sustaining an arts organization.
Created awareness or support for the arts.
An artist or arts organization serving the community in broad and impactful ways.
