Oakland County Board of Commissioners Announce Budget Hearings

On Thursday, August 8, 2013, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Finance Committee will review the County Executive’s Recommended Balanced Triennial Budget for FY 2014 consisting of $799,148,947, FY 2015 consisting of $806,053,332 and FY 2016 consisting of $813,406.699. The committee will review budgets of all county departments during the hearings.

These budget hearings are open to the public and will be held in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Committee Room A, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road, in Pontiac, Michigan. The hearings will be held following the regular Finance Committee agenda which begins at 9:00 a.m.

The following budget hearings are scheduled for:

Thursday, August 8, 2013 (following regular Finance Committee agenda)

10:00 a.m.             Treasurer’s Office

10:20 a.m.            Clerk/Register of Deeds

Thursday, August 22, 2013 (following regular Finance Committee agenda)

10:00 a.m.             District Court

10:20 a.m.            Probate Court

11:20 a.m.             Board of Commissioners/Library Board

11:40 a.m.             Parks and Recreation

Oakland County Commissioner and Finance Committee Chairman Thomas Middleton,  stated, “One of the major roles of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners is to pass a balanced budget and make certain that our services and county departments are on sound fiscal footing. By doing our due diligence and working with the County Administration, we want to ensure that we maintain a budget that sustains our AAA Bond rating and 4.19 millage rates without compromising the quality of life that Oakland County residents have come to expect.”

On July 25, 2013, the Finance Committee reviewed the budgets of the following departments the County Executive, the Circuit Court, the Sheriff’s Office, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Water Resources Commissioner.

All meetings are open to the public. Please note the schedule is subject to change.
