Commissioner Doug Tietz Seeks Citizen to Serve on the Oakland County Senior Advisory Council
Oakland County Commissioner Doug Tietz is seeking applications from residents of the 11th County Commission District to serve on the Oakland County Senior Advisory Council.
“Oakland County is experiencing unprecedented growth in the population of residents above retirement age. County and community leaders must be proactive and work together to meet the needs of this senior boom. I encourage residents of the 11th District that have a strong interest in senior issues to apply for this important position,” stated Commissioner Tietz.
The primary purpose of the Senior Advisory Council is to evaluate and report on information gathered from the community in regards to elderly issues and concerns. The Council meets monthly from September through May with December off, and meetings typically take place on the third Monday with occasional exceptions for holidays or other scheduling conflicts. The Commissioner from each of Oakland County’s 21 County Commission Districts appoints a representative. The County Executive also makes four countywide appointments.
Oakland County Commissioner Doug Tietz (R-Troy) was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2016, replacing retiring Commissioner Robert Gosselin. The 11th County Commission District includes portions of Troy, Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills.
