As summer draws to a close, Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard wants to remind the public that the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office continues to accept donations of new, used, or in need of repair bicycles and bicycle accessories and parts as part of a recycling effort to support the Sheriff’s Re-CYCLE for Kids Program sponsored by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The Program is designed to refurbish used bicycles, through the use of inmate labor giving back to the community, and make them available to children and adults in need through local charitable organizations.
Mr. Ed Hersch of 1-800 Mini-Storage of Troy is now conducting a bicycle drive as part of this effort, which will continue through the end of September.
Individuals are encouraged to donate their unused bicycles throughout the month of August and through the month of September.
