On Saturday, January 26, join Oakland Township Parks and Recreation at a new location for their annual Winter Carnival. Outdoor activities include ice skating, ice carving demonstrations and photo op, kiddie sledding, archery, a scavenger hunt, and a variety of carnival “snow games” – penguin bowling, pin the nose on the snowman, hockey goal shoot, and a snow ball fight. Indoor activities include a pinecone bird feeder nature craft, two tent shows with Magic Joe and Michigan Stiltwalker’s Balloon Show and a food tent with warm beverages, pizza and sandwiches. All activities are free including food and skate loan.
All parking is at the Paint Creek Cider Mill. There will be a free shuttle service from 11:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from the Paint Creek Cider Mill Building, 4480 Orion Road (.25 miles from the event) to Bear Creek Nature Park. The event runs from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m.
