Shane Lewis, Named Director of Undergraduate Admissions, at Oakland University
Lewis brings more than 10 years of diverse admissions experience in roles of continually increasing responsibility to the position. Most recently, he served as interim director of Undergraduate Admissions for Oakland University (OU).
Other roles since joining OU in 2011 have included stints as associate director of Undergraduate Admissions, communications coordinator and admissions adviser. Lewis also spent time working as an admissions counselor at Bowling Green State University in Ohio early in his career.
“Shane has shown tremendous leadership as interim director,” said Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Dawn Aubry. “He has worked tirelessly to help the university recruit another strong incoming class. His professional experience and his heartfelt commitment to diversity and inclusion, as well as his deep knowledge of Oakland University, make him the ideal leader for Undergraduate Admissions. I look forward to working with him to bring talented students of all backgrounds to OU.”
Aubry added, “Shane has led the recruitment team for the past four years. He has also worked closely with University Communications and Marketing to strengthen our brand and further refine our recruitment and marketing strategies using psychometrics and implementing a new search engine optimization strategy.”

Lewis is a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), and served as chairperson for the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) Enrollment Management Committee.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Bowling Green State University and his Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Oakland University.
