Haunted Houses

Several scary attractions haunt the area. A 43-year tradition, the Tunnel of Terror, returns to the Rochester Municipal Park. Located on Pine Street north of University Drive and west of Main Street, this annual tradition hosted by the Rochester Area Junior Chamber (Jaycees) is open Friday and Saturday nights from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. $15.00 per person.

Just outside the Rochester Area are Erebus and Scott’s Haunted Corn Maze. Erebus is in Downtown Pontiac and is a full-featured haunted attraction. If you want to be scared, this is the place. Open most nights leading up to Halloween. $23.00 – $28.00 per person.

In Oxford on Seymour Lake Road (between Baldwin Road & Sashabaw Road) is a three-part adventure at Scott’s Haunted Corn Maze. Choose the Maze, Hayride, or Rooms of Terror. $16.00 per person for all three.

Cider Mills

Its peak season for cider mills in Michigan. There are over one-hundred cider mills in apple-rich Michigan. Fortunately, there are several in the Rochester Area.

Goodison Cider Mill is the small mill next to Baldwin Elementary School on Orion Road at the north end of the Village of Goodison. Known for their blueberry donuts, Pistachio Nut Bread and Custom Cider Pressing. Come watch cider being made on weekends, open until Christmas.

Rochester Cider Mill north of downtown on Rochester Road offers natural, untreated and un-pasteurized cider. Their specialty cider: grape, pear, and cranberry, will be available in November and December.

On the other side of town is Yates Cider Mill. Eventful all the time with a bunch of things to do: petting farm, pony rides, fudge shop, ice cream shop and a river walk will keep the entire family busy. Yate’s celebrates 150 years this season.

Special Events

Dinosaur Hill’s Annual Halloween Hoot runs this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Family-friendly, 45-minute guided walks are only $7.00 per person. Call 248-656-0999 for more information.
