The Older Persons’ Commission (OPC) is holding an outdoor Oktoberfest party including a food truck with authentic German food, beer, wine, live music, Bavarian style pretzels, plus inflatables, and games on Thursday, September 16 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. This fun-for-all-ages, family friendly event is open to the public and will take place in the south parking lot of the OPC. The OPC is located at 650 Letica Drive, Rochester.
Guests may enjoy live music and dancing with the Eric Neubauer German Town Band and delicious German food courtesy of Ziffel’s Food Truck. Beer will be provided by the Rochester Mills Beer Company, and wine and alcohol-free beverages will also be available. Children, and those young at heart, can play on the giant inflatable Bungee Run, Wacky Colosseum, Archery & sporting games provided by Oakland County Parks & Recreation. While enjoying the festivities, guests can also stroll through the OPC perennial and pollinator gardens.
Tickets are $10 and are available by calling the OPC at 248-659-1029. Each ticket includes all entertainment, plus a drink ticket and pretzel. Food and additional drink tickets are available for purchase. Proceeds from the event will support the OPC’s programs and services for area seniors.
