Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA) is proud to announce the return of the Meijer Kids Art Zone at the 52nd Art & Apples Festival. The signature event, which also serves as PCCA’s largest fundraiser, takes place Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 10 at Rochester Municipal Park in downtown Rochester.
“Art & Apples is such a fun and engaging event for the community, and one Meijer is incredibly proud to support,” said Cathy Cooper, senior director of Community Partnerships and Giving. “The Kids Art Zone is a great way to encourage more children to participate in art activities, which, in turn, helps them develop vital skills that will help them throughout their lives.”

PCCA Arts & Apples 2017
The Meijer Kids Art Zone will offer a weekend of activities, creativity and exploration for children of all ages. As part of PCCA’s commitment to fostering the arts in the region, the Kids Art Zone is free for festival patrons to enjoy, thanks to the generous support of Meijer.
In addition to the make-and-take art projects from PCCA and the Detroit Institute of Arts, face painting, and other available activities, young attendees will be able to commemorate the City of Rochester’s 200th anniversary by adding to the monster mural for kids that will be created throughout the three-day festival.
Consistently ranked as one of the top juried fine art fairs in the country, the 2017 Art & Apples Festival will feature nearly 300 artists from across the nation displaying and selling their work. New and returning artists will showcase fine art in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, digital art, drawing, fabric/fiber/leather, glass, printmaking, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood.
This year, PCCA has announced that a free shuttle departing from Rochester High School (180 S. Livernois Rd.) and traveling to the Rochester Municipal Park will be available on the Saturday (9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and Sunday (9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) of the festival.
