Patricia Kane named recipient of the Rochester “Good Neighbor Award”

The City Beautiful Commission (CBC) recently announced the winner of the 2nd Quarter Good Neighbor Award is Rochester resident Patricia Kane.

The Good Neighbor Award program was created by the CBC to allow residents of Rochester to nominate an adult or youth for their good neighbor work. The award recognizes the ongoing efforts of Rochester residents who are making exceptional contributions to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. The program is designed to honor those who make a difference in our community without seeking or receiving recognition for their service. Pat Kane

Pat was nominated on behalf of her efforts within the community. According to the nomination, “Pat always looks for avenues where she can be of service to the community as a whole as well and has served on many boards and commissions as a result. She has a great love for animals and nature and was instrumental in starting up “Benny’s Kitchen” in memory of her own little dog. In cooperation with our Food Pantry this program helps the elderly and those of modest means to help feed their companion pets and not give them up to shelters.  She has donated generously to the many charities we have around town and is happy to do so. In times of trouble or infirmity, she has offered her assistance whenever possible whether helping to care for a pet, washing clothes or providing a meal but she has never asked for anything in return. These are true acts of kindness and often random in nature.”

The Rochester City Beautiful Commission was proud to present Pat with the award at the May 12th City Council meeting.
