Patterson Chooses New County HR Director

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson has appointed Jordie A. Kramer as director of human resources for Oakland County. Kramer replaces Nancy Scarlet who retired Dec. 31, 2014.

“Jordie has been an exemplary employee during her 17-plus years in our Human Resources Department,” Patterson said. “She has a thorough knowledge of personnel matters and is invested in our county employees.”

As human resources director, Kramer will be a member of Patterson’s Budget Task Force, which includes his five deputy county executives and his director of management and budget, the press release said. Together, they meet weekly to ensure the county government stays within its balanced multi-year budget.

“I am grateful that Mr. Patterson selected me for such a key role in his administration,” Kramer said. “I look forward to meeting his vision for fiscal responsibility and overseeing great programs such as OakFit, our employee wellness initiative.”

Kramer, 45, lives in Waterford Township with her husband Ken and their children Andrew and Caroline. She joined the Human Resources Department in August of 1997 as a human resources analyst in the classification and compensation unit. She has served in labor relations since January of 2001, most recently as supervisor. She has a bachelor of science degree from Central Michigan University.

Kramer’s appointment will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners General Government Committee for confirmation at its Monday, April 13 meeting. It is expected before the full board on Thursday, April 23.
