Patterson Orders Large Flag Draped for Independence Day

oc-flag 2014Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will mark the 4th of July holiday by draping a large American flag on the west wing extension of the Oakland County Circuit Court Building. The 30-foot by 60-foot banner will be on display until Tuesday, July 7.

“The U.S. flag is a visual reminder of why we celebrate Independence Day,” Patterson said. “It tells the story of the original states, of the sacrifices made by our founders, and of the incredible country we’ve become.”

The circuit court building is located at 1200 N. Telegraph in Pontiac. Individuals may observe the flag from northbound Telegraph as commuters approach the government campus. Visitors are also welcome to park in the public parking lot south of the courthouse on the county government campus to observe the flag.
